Ingredients

  • 3/4 lb sliced ham
  • 3/4 lb sliced Swiss Cheese
  • 12 King's Hawaiian Rolls
  • 6 tbsp butter
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp spicy brown mustard
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 3/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cayenne pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Slice Hawaiian rolls horizontally. Layer ham and Swiss cheese (I like to do 2 layers of each) on bottom half of rolls. Add top half back to the top.
Mix 6 tablespoons melted butter, 3 tablespoons brown sugar, 2 tablespoons brown mustard (I used homemade spicy brown mustard), 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce, 3/4 teaspoon onion powder, and of course I cranked it up a notch with some cayenne, 1/2 teaspoon but we like it spicy around here. Use less if you do not.
Spread sauce on top of rolls, and cover with foil. Preferably marinate overnight.
Bake at 350 degrees (covered) until ham is hot and Swiss cheese is melted. I like to put under broiler (uncovered) for a minute to really brown the top. Cut into individual sandwiches and serve.
