- 1 pound Swiss Gruyere, or Gouda cheese shredded
- 1 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 garlic clove peeled
- 1/2 cup beer American Lager
- 1/2 cup hard cider
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/4 cup dry Sherry
- 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne pepper to taste
- pinch MSG
- Pinch salt
Slice garlic clove and saute for a minute in a spray of oil in fondue pot over medium. Add beer, cider, sherry, spices and lemon juice and warm through. Toss cheese with corn starch, and add to warm liquid. Heat until cheese is melted.
