Baked Brie With Cranberry Jalapeno Chutney

This is so easy to throw together and comes out amazing. It has some non-traditional ingredients added to increase the umami. Surprisingly, a hit with kids (and parents!)

Ingredients

  • 1 19 ounce brie wheel
  • 1 17 ounce box puff pastry thawed
  • 1 tablespoon curry powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/8-1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup cranberry chutney or any chutney

Instructions

  • Unfold one of the puff pastries and place it in a pan. Place the brie wheel on top of the pastry and rub the top with spices, and put the chutney on top. Place the second puff pastry on top, and wrap under the bottom to secure. Bake in a 350 degree Fahrenheit oven for 45-60 minutes until top is golden. Allow the pastry to cool for about 15 minutes, then slice into wedges and serve. Waiting to cool a bit prevents all of the cheese from running out immediately when cut. Some will still run out but unless you wait until it’s completely cold you can’t avoid that. This reheats very nicely.
