As much as it pains me, I have fallen for cheese that comes from a different state. I’m sorry Wisconsin but I can’t help it. It’s just delicious.
I ordered directly from the manufacturer. I’m not going to lie this cheese is not cheap, just over 100 dollars for 5 pounds of cheese. But hey, I got free shipping, and it was shipped very quickly. And even for us, 5 pounds of cheese should last a while.
We fell in love with it after using it for our wedding in our cheese wheel cake…we used this cake topper.
And I decided to buy more because I ran out of leftovers.
You can tell this one was very fresh. When it’s fresh it’s relatively firm all the way to the edges. When it ages, it starts to look more like this
I have to be honest, I love it both ways! Which is unusual for me because usually I like things *just so*
The thin line of ash in the middle. I’m not sure what that’s supposed to do but it is magical.
Here’s where it gets even better. I had some Avocado blossom honey (it was a gift from a coworker) I’m almost out and need to buy more but Dutch Gold wants 15 dollars just for shipping, so I’m going to try this next time: Florida’s Finest
The earthy flavor of the Avocado blossom honey compliments the goat cheese so beautifully. Even if you don’t have this amazing cheese, I’m sure it would compliment any goat cheese very nicely.
Drizzle a goodly amount on top of the cheese.
And serve with crackers. This time I used the Sourdough cracker recipe (Only I made them right this time and used whole wheat flour, onion powder, and sesame seeds. Delicious!)
